LAUNCH OF NEW CULTURE, ARTS AND POLITICS JOURNAL: DRUGSTORE CULTURE

Designed as an antidote to the post-truth world and as a challenge to the decline of thoughtful analysis of culture, society and politics, DRUGSTORE CULTURE, will be published across digital, print and mobile platforms by a new publishing house set up by Charles Finch, the film, food and brand entrepreneur, with Matthew d’Ancona as editor in chief.

Under the umbrella of Finch Publishing, DRUGSTORE CULTURE will become an influential voice in the cultural landscape and an indispensable bulletin board for the highest-quality cultural commentary, news and video content. Unafraid of controversy, it will engage with the great issues and be a celebration of creativity whilst deploying the full armoury of the technological revolution in the service of the best and most exciting journalism.

Matthew d’Ancona said: “DRUGSTORE CULTURE will be both a bastion against the rise of unreason and a celebration of popular culture over populism. We will bring an unashamedly literary approach to interpret the divisions in modern culture and their interplay with the arts, science and politics.”

“It will be a reassertion of independent thought at a time when the prospect of our lives being controlled by algorithms and populist politicians is no longer science fiction but a growing reality. An affirmation and exploration of the power of creative expression and critical analysis to explain the world has never been more important.”

Charles Finch said: “At a time of accelerating social and technological change, DRUGSTORE CULTURE will combine a celebration of culture in its widest sense with insightful, rigorous and

challenging analysis by the world’s leading thinkers, writers and video makers to help us make sense of a world in transformation.”

Matthew d’Ancona is former Editor of The Spectator, Deputy Editor of The Sunday Telegraph, and an award-winning columnist. He is also the author of several acclaimed books, including Post-Truth (2017), a Trustee of the Science Museum Group, and was elected a Fellow of All Souls College in 1989.
